Abaca is a banana species that provides fiber, the manila hemp. Usually, Abaca is processed into rope. When the fibers become dry, they also get a lot stronger which means you can twist them into ropes. It is known to be a very strong fiber and is resistant to water. This specific species is sustainably harvested for many things including furniture.

Maintenance
Abaca is relatively easy to maintain. You can clean the fibers with a soft cloth and some warm water. If you use water, be sure it is allowed to dry quickly. We also recommend dusting it regularly.
